Bodrum sits on a peninsula at the intersection of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, its white cube houses cascading down to a double harbour dominated by the magnificent Castle of St Peter — now home to the world's finest museum of underwater archaeology. The town has long attracted Turkey's intellectual and artistic elite, giving it a cultural sophistication unusual in a beach resort.
