About Boracay

White Beach: Asia's most famous party strand and kitesurfing capital

Boracay is a small island in the Philippines — just 7km long — that manages to contain one of Asia's most celebrated beaches: White Beach, a 4km arc of powdery white sand where beach bars, resort hotels and restaurants line the shore from one end to the other. The island closed entirely in 2018 for a six-month environmental rehabilitation, reopening with tighter regulations that have significantly improved its water quality and reduced some of the most egregious overdevelopment. The northeast trade winds that blow across Station 1 in December to February make Boracay one of Asia's premier kitesurfing destinations.

When to go: November to May is dry season. December to February brings the Amihan winds ideal for kitesurfing.
