Grace Bay: the Caribbean's most consistently celebrated beach
Turks and Caicos is a British Overseas Territory in the Atlantic, southeast of the Bahamas, and it contains what many surveys consistently identify as the world's best beach: Grace Bay on Providenciales. The sand here is blindingly white, the water is a gradient of turquoise to sapphire, and the reef just offshore makes for exceptional snorkelling. The country's 40-odd islands and cays are largely undeveloped — protected by law from the large-scale resort development that has changed nearby Caribbean destinations — giving it a serenity that larger islands struggle to match.
When to go: November to April is dry season with the calmest, clearest water. December to March is peak season.
The best months to visit Turks and Caicos are January, February, March. Peak season is July with the best combination of warm temperatures and low rainfall.
